Whole-house renovations in Bristol

A whole-house renovation is usually a house someone has just bought, with old wiring, old heating and a layout that doesn’t work. We plan it as one job with one programme, so trades aren’t waiting on each other and you know the move-in date before we start.

Typical cost

From £1,400 per m²

Time on site

5 to 9 months on site

What’s included

A three-bedroom semi typically costs £140,000 to £260,000, depending on how much of the structure changes. Includes VAT.

A full rewire and a new consumer unit

A new heating system, including heat pumps where the house suits one

Layout changes, steels and new openings

Insulation and window replacement

Kitchens, bathrooms, joinery and flooring

Decorating throughout and a deep clean before you move in

Planning the order of work

The order matters more on a whole house than on any other job. Structural work and anything that makes dust goes first. Then first-fix wiring and pipework in every room, then insulation and plastering, then floors, kitchens and bathrooms, then decorating. We send you the programme with the quote, week by week.

Fortnightly cost reports

Most whole-house jobs change as walls are opened up. Every two weeks you get a cost report that shows the original price, every change you have agreed, and anything we’ve found that needs a decision, with a price for each option.
